Get ServSafe Alcohol Certified with the CRA
The Connecticut Restaurant Association (CRA) is proud to provide the ServSafe Alcohol Certification, developed by industry professionals to set the standard for responsible alcohol service training.
ServSafe Alcohol is a vital, practical and current approach to responsible alcohol service training. Implementing the same approach ServSafe pioneered for the industry’s most recognized food safety training and certification, the ServSafe Alcohol program was developed with input from experts in the restaurant, legal, regulatory, academic, insurance, medical and law enforcement fields. Together, they determined the tasks that the front-of-the-house needs to know. It’s a holistic approach that helps ensure everyone has the training they need to serve alcohol responsibly.
Covering a wide array of crucial topics, ServSafe Alcohol goes beyond the basics to ensure your team is well-prepared to handle various situations confidently, safely and effectively. With lessons covering essential information, including alcohol laws, evaluating intoxication levels and checking identification, ServSafe Alcohol includes the latest studies and science-based information, explores real-world situations and makes it all engaging and accessible with the latest instructional design techniques.
Participants learn effective communication strategies and de-escalation techniques to handle challenging situations with professionalism and confidence. They will gain a comprehensive understanding of their legal obligations and responsibilities and how to mitigate risks to contribute to a safe and enjoyable experience for all patrons.
Delivered in a convenient online format, the course is flexible, making it perfect for hospitality industry professionals to complete. The four-hour course is mobile enabled, allowing users to easily return to where they left off. Plus, ServSafe Alcohol is offered in both English and Spanish. The CRA also offers members the opportunity to take advantage of the Member Exclusive Rate, offered through the CRA website.
Looking to renew or obtain your ServSafe Manager certificate? In addition to ServSafe Alcohol, the CRA also offers weekly in-person ServSafe Manager classes across the state. In 2023, more than 1,500 students attended CRA classes, with almost 90% passing with the help of our incredible instructors.
Students can undertake a full course and exam or simply retake their certification only to ensure their required certification is kept up to date. ServSafe Manager is also offered in an online format, available to purchase through the CRA website.
