Annual CRA Night at the Capitol a Success

The Connecticut Restaurant Association (CRA) filled the halls of the Connecticut State Capitol building on April 29 for its annual CRA Night at the Capitol. More than 25 member restaurants and vendors joined forces to create an awesome tabling event, aiming to demonstrate the importance and power of our industry, and showcase to legislators the people, businesses and careers proposed bills are directly impacting.

Hundreds of restaurateurs, food-service business owners, vendors, legislators and state officials filled the North Lobby to taste the incredible food and drinks offered by CRA members representing all areas of Connecticut. From ice cream to Indian and sliders to street corn, there was something for everyone to try.

Athletic Brewing Co. of Milford and Cross Culture Kombucha of Danbury offered refreshing nonalcoholic drinks, and restaurants brought their own signature recipes, including Hibiscus Thyme Tea from Ani’s Table & Marketplace of Rocky Hill. El Santo of West Hartford served up the traditional Mexican drink agua de horchata (rice and cinnamon water).

The CRA Night at the Capitol is a firm-favorite event for elected officials and a great way to exhibit the variety, diversity and strength of our industry. A huge thank you to all the restaurants, catering businesses and vendors who represented the Connecticut hospitality scene at the event. We can’t wait for next year!
